Mumbai Terror - Salute to Martyrs - And Men in Uniform

We salute our martyrs who laid their lives in the terror operations against the people who created a terror and killed innocent civilians in mumbai in the last couple of days...

Also our salute goes to all the men in uniform (dont wanna name the forces individually as it will be a big mistake if i leave any one of them) who fought bravely and brought this seige to and end after nearly 59 hours...

We also salute the sniffer dogs who risked their life and went in search of explosives in the buildings that were occupied by the terrorists...

And also salute the South African commandos who were inside Taj hotel along with 150+ people in a restraunt and rescued them using their skills to handle pressure situations like this...

Even though the operation has completed successfully - following are some of worst things on the part of failure of administration (both state and centre) before NSG (National Security Guards) took lead in the operations... This mistakes should not be repeated and hope the administration would have learnt a lesson now...
  • NSG commandos waited for the flight to mumbai for several hours - They are the elite forces in our country - I really wonder why they dont even have a seperate flight for themselves?
  • After the NSG commandos reached mumbai airport they have waited for 30 mins for the pickup bus to arrive and take them to the terror spots - It would have taken atleast a couple of hrs for the NSG to reach mumbai - local administration will know that NSG will arrive to mumbai airport at specified time - why cant they send the pickup buses before the flight carrying NSG reached mumbai airport?
  • And arranging for a bus is also a big blunder... when situation is that much serious why cant they use the helicopters of the Coast Guard and Navy to pickup the commandos from airport and drop them? In these kind of operations "time" is an important factor...
  • The above things clearly shows the lack of co-ordination between the local administration and centre...
From the video footages its very clear that our men in uniform were using weapons that were outdated to tackle such terrorist acts... I saw several men in uniform holding .303 rifles... That's what we used in NCC for shooting practice... I was really saddenned and anuguished seeing those people using that rifle in this operation...

When you have weapons that performs far below the weapons that your enemy has then how will you conquer them????

The weapons being used in Russia, US, UK, EU and all for these kind of operations will be equipped with latest technology... but still our men in uniform - even NSG - the elite force of India is using out-dated or lower capacity arms to handle terrorists...

Billions and billions of money is being allocated for defence in our Union Budget every year... But i donna wat happens to those money when i saw the arms that our men in uniform used for this operation...

Though the seige has come to end this event has created a lot of trauma in the families of the innocent 150+ people who lost their lives...

May they have the strength to recover from this state of shock and led a normal life...
