Mumbai Terror - Unsung Heroes - Labradors of NSG

They marched in fearlessly to brave bullets and explosives in a terror-struck building and in the end played no mean role in securing the premises. The two sniffer dogs of the National Security Guards (NSG) went about their task with diligence for about 15 hours during the encounter in the Nariman House along with their masters -- the commandos-- and are no strangers to life threatening situations.

It was just another day at work for the NSG Labradors who are routinely trained to sniff out unidentified objects and explosives. And they did so in good measure.

But the Labradors found the frenzied 'welcome' and the impromptu applause from scores of lensmen and TV cameramen a little too hot to handle when they emerged from the building accompanied by their trainers.

The dogs also showed signs of discomfort from continuing popping of flash bulbs and were reluctant in moving forward. They made sure to stay close to their trainers.

From the video footage shown later in media, it seems 4 sniffer dogs has been involved in the rescue operation...

We salute the brave dogs for their courageous acts in the terror zone...

hmmm....somehow media coverage leaves me very disturbed. Dont u think the media was showing too much? I was wondering if we gave away the positions of our commandos by showing each and every move of them.

Btw...nice blog...nice backdrop :)

Cheers

Yup... its very disturbing... especially for kids...

My opinion on why it took nearly 60 hrs to end the siege is due to this media coverage ONLY... Of course, the terrorists hv planned well for this hype of attack but media did an excellent part in transmitting the information that the terrorists need at tht time in a nice manner...

With so much of technology in place, donna why the media did not even understand tht live transmission of position of commando's will help the terrorists to plan the counter-attack efficiently...

Media in our country dont hv any ethics... thts wat i can say on a wholle...

And thanks for ur comments on the blog... :)
